1. The National Action Plan Against Trafficking in Human Beings
The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland on 10 April 2020 adopted the National Action Plan against Trafficking in Human Beings for 2020-2021.
The National Action Plan for 2020-2021 (NAP) aims to intensify preventive measures, strengthen the role of Provincial Teams for Counteracting Trafficking in Human Beings and introduce corrective measures so that all parts of the anti-trafficking system are complementary.
The main goal of the Plan is to ensure conditions necessary for effective counteracting of human trafficking in Poland and supporting victims of this crime. In this context the detailed objectives of the Plan are as follows:
– raising social awareness of the phenomenon of trafficking in human beings;
– raising standards of support given to victims of trafficking in human beings (including underage victims of trafficking in human beings);
– improving effectiveness of activities of institutions responsible for prosecuting human trafficking crime by improving legal tools, structures and implementation of best practices;
– increasing qualifications of representatives of institutions and organizations involved in counteracting human trafficking and supporting victims of this crime;
– enhancing knowledge on the phenomenon of human trafficking and effectiveness of actions taken, particularly in the context of forced labour;
– strengthening international cooperation.
The achievement of the above mentioned goals has been detailed in the text of this Plan. Tasks envisaged for implementation within the framework of the Plan are nation-wide: i.e. they concern activities of central institutions within the scope of creating commonly implemented legal regulations or model practices, as well as activities undertaken in all regions through competent units (in particular voivodeship teams for counteracting trafficking in human beings).*

2. Human Trafficking in Poland. Report 2019
We encourage you to read the publication “Human Trafficking in Poland. Report 2019”, which presents the current situation in Poland – statistics and trends, as well as changes in trafficking regulations, new procedural solutions and issues of international cooperation.
Poland is quite a specific country due to its geopolitical location, because in the context of human trafficking it is at the same time a country of origin, transit and destination for victims of human trafficking. Polish citizens, both men and women, may be recruited in our country and then used for forced labour, prostitution, begging, stealing or extorting benefits and credits abroad. Our country may also be a destination for organisers of human trafficking. In this sense, exploitation of foreigners takes place on the territory of Poland. The most frequent victims are citizens of European countries: Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine, as well as Asian countries (e.g. Vietnam, Philippines, Sri Lanka). Foreigners are used for forced labour, prostitution, begging, and sometimes they are also victims of domestic slavery and criminal exploitation.*
